Deeds Not Words

In November 2021, Rosa Kusabbi’s work ‘Hate as no place in Liverpool’ was vandalised in an act of homophobia. Protest, its ability to sustain itself and the visual communication of movements are foundational in the history of graphic design. Discussing the attacks with friends there was frustration for the police’s lack of action, despite their public statements.

Could design have prevented this physical attack? Using the work of designers, such as X as inspiration, the poster uses the Suffragette slogan ‘Deeds not Words’ to address the destruction of the Kussabbi and Homotopia’s mural.
